Enjoy an inspiring afternoon of masterworks from the Baroque era.

Under the direction of Dr. Steven Kronauer, the program showcases the brilliance and emotional depth of composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Henry Purcell, George Frideric Handel, and Claudio Monteverdi.

Highlights include a selection of Bach’s profound and virtuosic motets, and a concert performance of selected scenes from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, including the poignant “Dido’s Lament.” The program concludes with Handel’s majestic coronation anthem Zadok the Priest.

Featuring a live string ensemble and harpsichord by Scott VanOrnum, Baroque Beauties celebrates the expressive power, spiritual depth, and dramatic brilliance of Baroque music.

A Message From Dr. K

As Artistic Director of Artes Vocales, it excites me to be with our members and to create opportunities to connect to each other through the vastness of our experiences. In this ensemble, we explore vocal techniques that enable us to grow towards full self-expression. The interconnection of alignment and breath connects to a space of creativity, empowering us in the discovery of our own voices, each as unique as a fingerprint.

As a voice teacher, I aim to facilitate full self-expression through every unique voice by offering guidance in vocal technique, health, and strength. We offer an inclusive space for singers to develop their vocal range through connection to breath and the beauty of language in singing. So please join us and sing your heart out!
